About

The poetic imagination of the artist has been at the centre of the global village. It has played a key role in international collaboration and exchange, fostering alternative, counter-hegemonic models of participation and creating new spaces in which to do so. As unchecked growth continues to bring ecosystems to a tipping point, the presence of the artist on the international stage is more important than ever. But what would happen if artists were unable to travel? How, for example, might they contribute to climate change debates across continents under the conditions of ‘net zero’ or stricter bordering regimes? This three-day workshop series responds to these questions through an exploration of the field-broadcast medium. Taking advantage of the multiple methods at art’s disposal, and proceeding in a resolutely experimental spirit, we will develop ways of communicating environmental knowledge across time and space. Contributions from:  Gitanjali Poluru, Gurdev Singh, Nasir Sheikh, Aditi Suneija et al.
